This blog is an eclectic mix of opinion and hopefully education. I’m very passionate about Libertarian philosophy, training with weights, personal finance, personal development, Economics, wine, and food. So that’s what I write about. If there’s something you’d like to see, please send an email or leave a comment.
I am anti guru. I have a pretty big problem with people presenting themselves as experts on the internet where their expertise is posting on the internet. There’s a lot of this in the strength training/bodybuilding world, and I’ve found quite a bit of it in the personal finance world as well. There are a lot of people trying to get rich telling you how to get rich, and much like Mr. Rich Dad, they have not actually built any wealth of their own.
I do this for fun, to educate, and maybe someday something will grow out of it, but I don’t do it for money. I don’t advertise and I don’t sell anything. I’m simply speaking from my experience. In the personal finance context, my experience of going from ass over teakettle in credit card debt to having a net worth that most people would find impressive; in the Economics/Business/Finance context, it’s a combination of an Economics minor, an MBA, and corporate experience with one of the most well-known companies in the world; in the lifting context, it’s 15 years of getting it wrong, making progress here and there, actually getting on the platform and doing it, and lots of study.
I love to learn, and try to learn something new every day.
