Blowout

Ravens crush Lions 48 – 3, setting a couple of records (most points, most yards) in the process. It’s the solid performance they needed to build confidence, as well as get a chance to rest some starters. Good to see Troy Smith score using his feet.

The game plan was perfect, execution was excellent. Yeah, it was the Lions. Yeah, the weather was awful. But the Ravens needed that. Now they need to do the same thing to the Bears.

Got some playoff help from Jacksonville and Denver losses, too.

As an aside, NFL officiating as a whole continues to be awful. I caught part of the Cowboys/Chargers game, and the first half of the Giants/Eagle game, in both I saw not only a couple of bad calls, but incorrect spots, incorrect clock adjustments, and general confusion. The NFL needs to take a look at that, and instead of making more rules to keep anyone from touching the QB, focus on training the refs on the current rules.
